RepRap Stepper Motor Controller ver 2.3 It is physically smaller than the Makerbot version, but we primarily reduced the amount of empty space.

This used to control a step motor. One controller is needed for each axis. As described here http://reprap.org/wiki/Official_Electronics_Installation_page#Connecting... .You can also use a stepper controller with an extruder controller to make the RepRap operate more smoothly as seen here.
